kate1984 Â Â 10 #1 Posted July 13, 2009 Hi Everybody, Â Daisy's nearly recovered and im really excited to be starting ringcraft but Im not sure what i need, she currently has a big chain lead and a harness (as she is so powerfull) but im told i need a show lead or a halti? Â Ive looked at ebay and the show leads are all different mm some are 6 and some are 8, as most of you know Daisy is a english bull and 7 month old so amy advice about what i need to get me started will really help. Lotti   10 #3 Posted July 13, 2009 Kate, where are you going to ringcraft?  If you haven't started yet, take her on the walking equipment she has and ask them what she should wear - they should be able to tell you as most ringcraft 'trainers' are show judges - or at least know their stuff!  It's awkward to say because I've shown my dalmatian but she would probably wear a different show lead to your Daisy.  Knoxyovs on here handles dogs for show - not only her own, but also others, I'll point her towards this thread and ask her to give any advice she may be able to give. *Peaches* Â Â 10 #4 Posted July 14, 2009 Show leads vary from leather to nylon, you're best going to a show and looking at some, walking Daisy up and down on the lead to see how she responds to it. Â Â Other than the leather and nylon there are 3 types of neck types - full check, half check and slip lead. Â I know Fungus hates the leather ones, he plants his feet and refuses point blank to move, put him on a nylon slip lead and he's off. *Peaches* Â Â 10 #6 Posted July 14, 2009 There's a hound show in Leeds on 25th, there might be more stalls there
 Share this content via...
Lotti   10 #7 Posted July 14, 2009 Kate, I am hoping to get there tomorrow night but Takara doesn't socialise... we sit at a distance and concentrate on keeping her quiet LOL.  I know that there is someone at the Beighton club (not sure if it's Norma) who sells show leads, they took them with them once. Ask them at the club - they should be able to help Even if they just tell you when the next show is where you're likely to find them.
