sheff_playa   10 #1 Posted July 11, 2009 What do you think of the takeaway in Wicker called Abduls Kebabish opposite Imrans Diner? I think it could be improved a bit dont you?
 Share this content via...
saxon51 Â Â 10 #2 Posted July 11, 2009 I've been there and I got exactly what I expected. Nothing flash, nothing flambouyant, nothing special just as the prices reflected. Â If I'd wanted somewhere else more upmarket I'd have gone somewhere more expensive. Â What's Imrans Diner like? Any idea?
 Share this content via...
sheff_playa   10 #3 Posted July 11, 2009 what if they refurbished it, put in a few tv screens, wud it attract customers?
 Share this content via...
Farmboy   10 #4 Posted July 11, 2009 I prefer the Kebabish on the Wicker Pharmacy side. Had a lamb tikka roll from there last night. YUM!!  Been to Abdul's before. As said before, nothing special but it fills a hole when ya hungry.
 Share this content via...

saxon51 Â Â 10 #6 Posted July 11, 2009 what if they refurbished it, put in a few tv screens, wud it attract customers? Â Only the ones who wanted TV on whilst they are eating. Â Me personally? Â Would only be interested in TV if what was on was of interest to me. Odds are it wouldn't be so would avoid it. Â Refurbish? Â No need really. It serves a purpose: in, quickly served, eat, wind down and leave. Â Always seems busy with a mixture of difference ethnic groups, so why fix what ain't broke? Â When I went I enjoyed the simplicity of it all and the informality. Just like a transport cafe, but cleaner.
 Share this content via...
hparkes   10 #7 Posted July 11, 2009 I used to love this place as I work nearby. My favourite was masala fish on nan with salad - until one day the nan was stale and the salad was far from fresh. I haven't been since.
 Share this content via...

hparkes   10 #10 Posted July 11, 2009 But ain't the Masala fish lovely, eh?  Oh yeah, the fish is absolutely gorgeous. Nice and spicy.  It was just the nan and salad that I didnt enjoy that particular time. No excuse for stale bread and brown, soggy salad in my opinion so I havent been back since and I used to visit weekly.
 Share this content via...
