Harleyman   12 #14 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) Whose going to pay for all that food to be harvested, packed and shipped in refrigerated container ships and transported to far sides of the globe.  Would be better if scientists started working on how to grow food in an efficient and cheap way in countries with starving people. Develop a new kind of wonder fertilizer for instance. Not beyond the realms of possibility  I was always getting a strip torn off for not finishing food at the table. "There are people starving in Africa" was generally the refrain My response on one occasion saying I would put it in a box and ship to Africa got me a thick ear Edited July 6, 2009 by Harleyman
 Share this content via...
depoix   11 #15 Posted July 6, 2009 i dont waste much so feel that im not guilty but twenty years ago i worked on arable farms where it was the norm to run the tractor over the potatoes and cabbage and squash them into the ground if they didnt bring a good price at the market the farmers subsidies must be part of the killing of the starving
 Share this content via...
Crayfish   10 #16 Posted July 6, 2009 I prefer to buy food and throw it at people, killing them. Double the body count!
 Share this content via...

Grandad.Malky   11 #18 Posted July 6, 2009 What’s the point in trying to make someone guilty for throwing away food? Tin-pot dictators don’t want food to feed their people they want arms to carry on suppressing them .
 Share this content via...
Jason Bourne   11 #19 Posted July 6, 2009 How many people have I killed?  Well, seeing as The Sun (like all of Rupert Murdoch's 'news'papers) was in favour of the invasion of Iraq, I reckon the answer must be somewhere in the region of hundreds of thousands a year.  x
 Share this content via...
