NewBiz
Hi Has anyone had any experience of Hallam vets in Hillsborough? I have 2 cats from RSPCA and need to register them with a vet. I have used Hallam in the past and they were OK, I just wondered if anyone has any more recent experience, or recommends for other vets in that end of town. I would welcome any comments. Many thanks
Lotti
Not impressed with them at all. I moved to Broomhill Vets a couple of years ago after a particularly bad experience with one of the dogs and haven't looked back. Can thoroughly recommend Broomhill if you can get there. After the experience at Hallam, my dog was a nervous wreck with vets - Broomhill were great with her and she drags me in to see them now and gives the vet nurse big cuddles Hallam know my reasons for leaving but weren't particuarly interested. Edit to add: We moved both dogs and cats out of their care. We originally moved mum's cats from Hallam in Crookes to Hallam at Hillsborough because she wasn't pleased with the way they handled the cats but to be fair, they never really went to the vets only a couple of times so cant' say if Hillsborough were better with them or not. I think it depends which vet you see but Broomhill only has one and she's great. She's been great with both dogs (one of whom is nervous, the other senile), lovely with Smitch the cat and absolutely brilliant when we had to have Smudge, our other cat PTS. jamesons
I know a couple of people who have used Hallam Vets and have found them very good and friendly and would recommend them.
medusa
My lot are registered at Hallam. I've seen good and bad about them, but then I could say the same about virtually every vet I've ever encountered, so we're registered there because they're local. rachvog
I would not recommend using Hallam Vets. Please read this previous post: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=481031&page=2 Hope you get sorted though. We normally use Vets4Pets in Millhouses. It's a longer drive but definately worth it. I wouldn't use Hallam Vets if you paid me.
Star24*
i wouldnt reccomend them, i would use the one on Halifax road, reason being is my dog was under the care of the vets for a good 6 months whilst they tried to diagnose a skin problem (still not diagnosed), what annoyed me is they put him on antibiotics for a 3rd time(same ones!) even tho the first two lots had failed, when i rang to speak to the vets and asked them why there response was 'to try them one last time' even tho he had been referd onto a dermatologist at this point, when i said i wasn't happy to give them to my dog for the 3 rd time if they clearly dont work they said i couldnt have a refund of £40 even i had never opend them, they are extreemly expensive aswel.
