ukstudent
I have downloaded a movie and I'm trying to watch it on Windows Media Player - no idea which version sorry! The sound is working fine but I am not getting any visuals - do I need to change a setting or what else could be wrong. I have had the same problem with other movies so it isn't this one specifically.

BluePolo
As Patrick says, try using VLC player (it's not VCL player) as it seems to play everything you may want it to. Personally I haven't used windows media player for years. If you do try VLC, it's possible to advance or delay the sound if the movie sound is out of synch. Have a good poke around in the settings - use advanced user mode and have a look at the shortcut keys. Another good player to use is media player classic. VLC I use, the synch settings I didn't know about - I'll be exploring the settings more in the future - thanks
upinwath
I use a mix of VLC and media player with the codec pack mentioned. Media player still does most but VLC will play what the other fails on. I notice that some play with audio faults on media player but are fine using VLC. The logic suggest use both.
