sophie02 Â Â 10 #1 Posted June 13, 2009 I just wondered if anyone knows if the people in the hot air balloon that went into the trees at bradway are all safe??
 Share this content via...
fazz2311 Â Â 10 #2 Posted June 13, 2009 Was it the patchwork design one? If so, I've been worried about that one before, when I've been woken early on Sunday mornings with the noise of it boosting / making more heat? over our house. It gets very close sometimes. I recall a couple of threads about this one before, if it's the one you refer too.
 Share this content via...

Karis   11 #4 Posted June 13, 2009 It's always getting into scrapes. I think someone has been notified about it as it's becoming a danger.  Does anyone know who owns / pilots it?
 Share this content via...
fazz2311 Â Â 10 #5 Posted June 13, 2009 I hope everyone is ok. We see it regularly departing from Endcliffe Park. I guess their more tricky to drive than what i thought. I always wondered why they are allowed to take off from such populated areas as Ecclesall/Greystones etc. Not being a wind specialist but surely the wind conditions change when you get up in the air, it can seem calm down here but it's a bit mad up there. Â My in laws went up in that one a few years back and had a great experience. The only downside for them was not going over their house. Which is hardly the drivers responsibility as I assume he is dictated a lot by the wind conditions at certain heights. Â I call it 'driving' a hot air baloon as I don't know the real term! Â Would love to know though!!
 Share this content via...
CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #6 Posted June 13, 2009 That balloon has been in the clouds of Sheffield since i was about 4 or 5 at least, so that's what 23, 24 years at least. I can't believe it's still going to be honest.
 Share this content via...

Still, the reports can't always be 100% accurate; weather is a chaotic phenomenon, and even given perfect information and perfect calculations you still can't forecast it accurately. CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #9 Posted June 13, 2009 Its sound's daft this but what the hell lol, I lit my fag earlier outside and didn't have to put my hand's round the lighter, it even struck me then that there was no wind, no wonder the patchwork Balloon was on it's missions. mickoh   10 #12 Posted June 14, 2009 I saw the patchwork one go past last night and it seemed low but OK but the Virgin ballon that was behind it went down somewhere near Queen Victoria Road.  It went down really quickly and seemed like it had got snagged on something
 Share this content via...
