escort1 Â Â 10 #4 Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks, do you have to score a line, like when cutting tiles? Used this method as you suggested many years ago, but forgotton how I did it. Thanks.
 Share this content via...
dan2802 Â Â 53 #5 Posted June 9, 2009 You will need a big angle grinder with a cutting disc or better, a stihl saw. You wont do it with a hammer & chisel.
 Share this content via...
WarPig   70 #6 Posted June 9, 2009 You will need to at least scribe a line before whacking it with a hammer. But to scribe a decent line you will need an angle grinder at least.  Much better to hire a stihl saw with diamond tipped blade. Like a knife through butter! joat36 Â Â 10 #7 Posted June 10, 2009 bolster chisel and lump hammer, gentle taps to mark your line on both sides of the slab, keep tapping and turning the slab and then it breaks cleanly along the line. Takes patience and no big hits!
 Share this content via...
waldershelf   10 #8 Posted June 10, 2009 bolster chisel and lump hammer, gentle taps to mark your line on both sides of the slab, keep tapping and turning the slab and then it breaks cleanly along the line. Takes patience and no big hits! What you say is true but you still wont get a clean edge and it takes forever. The stihl saw from your local hire shop is the best bet. TheEqualizer   10 #10 Posted June 10, 2009 If you want a clean break. do as described above by scoring with a chisel but lay the paver on a bed of sand while your hitting it. works a treat.  Stihl saw is still the best option though.
