Clairy   10 #1 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Does anyone know a decent Motown band based in Sheffield and, if so, could you paste in a link to their website so I can have a look?  It is for a charity night at a restaurant.  Ta Edited June 9, 2009 by Clairy
 Share this content via...
bradley1983 Â Â 10 #2 Posted June 9, 2009 I've heard that Diana Ross and the Supremes have just moved to Newfield Green, if thats any help. Â This reminds me of that thread where someone asked if Lionel Ritchie lived in Grenoside, or something equally as ridiculous!! You could ring and ask them for the names of the band(s) on 01142553263.  We've booked to go to their Motown Night on Sat 29 August. Someone told me the band are not black though . Hopefully they will at least sound like the Temps!!
 Share this content via...

Kaye2812 Â Â 10 #9 Posted June 11, 2009 The guy that owns Silvesters in Leopold square has an excellent Motown band, we saw them play at Menzels last year and they were ace! Â I have also heard of a motown band called Highway Child (http://www.highwaychild.co.uk) but have never heard them play. Â Defo post the details of the event when you have set a date, we always love a good motown night! Â Good luck.
 Share this content via...
upontheroof   10 #10 Posted June 11, 2009 Don't get too excited about the Motown Night at Baldwins - went to one last year, band who were there were good but they were only on for a very short time then disco started but played absolute rubbish, not one Motown record. Oldtrout   10 #11 Posted June 11, 2009 Oh No!! I've got 15 very excited people in my gang looking forward to this for a good ole bop to Motown. Do you mean the band didn't play Motown? Or the DJ? If it's the DJ, and he doesn't play what we want, he will be mobbed by a lot of loud women. I'll take my CDs just in case! Thanks for the warning.
