Was wondering when someone was gonna pick up on that. ;)

I wouldn't take the kids to blackpool again, purely because of the amount of hen and stag parties there. We went to see the illuminations last year and it was spolit by the gangs of people swearing and vomiting in the street - in the daytime. Night time I can ignore it but not during the day!

There is a massive market about 10 miles from Brid on the Hornsea Road, They call it Skirlington Market and Car Boot, every Sunday morning. Its the biggest I've ever seen.

Ok then :)

Which holiday places do you like Megathread?

I don't go to the regular holiday places, had my fill of that when i was a kid, a week on friday i'm off to Avebury for a week, peace, countryside and a plethora of prehistoric sites.

I've almost been to Brid 3 or 4 times in the last decade, i stop about 10 miles short at Rudston which boasts Britains largest standing stone, set in a prehistoric landscape.

Brid, Skeggy, Blackpool etc, i couldn't bear the noise, wouldn't go to any of them if you paid me, each to their own though, just airing my opinion.

We used to go to Bridlington on a Monday to Friday break. It's not a bad old place but we used to use it as a base and traveled up and down the coast to various places.

Excellent! If thats what you like Megathread. Why not.

I'm a member of the National Trust and love the Peak district which we visit quite often. But I love the coast too and try to get there as often as possible. I enjoy walking along the beach at Bridlington and along the cliff top to Sewerby, or if I feel really energetic, Flamborough.

I like watching all the goings on in the harbour and 'people watching' on the promenade near the fair.
