I was in a cafe in Brid and cappuccino was on the menu, so I asked for it.

They took a normal coffee and squirted squirty cream on the top. That's Brid for you.

Rofl, i think that explains the place perfectly, need anyone comment further.

Brid is dire - dirty and tacky but just a short walk up the coast is Sewerby and thats lovely. There isn't much there but there is a super chip shop and a short walk to Danes Dyke and Flamborough is very enjoyable.

I went to Whitby with the wife and young daughter the weekend before last and we really

enjoyed it although we were blessed with some lovely weather.I've always liked Whitby

because of it's charactor, the narrow streets on each side of the Esk and the Abbey, its a lovely place and if you do go don't forget to visit the magpie cafe for the finest fish and chips in the world.

Whitby is a lovely place to go and visit.

I go to Bridlington frequently as I have a friend who lives there so often visit. Its not bad to use as a base and to visit the surrounding areas.

Scarborough is, as others have said, a better place overall.

A visit to Flamborough is always a good day out and Filey has a nice beach.

thanks everyone for the comments :) does whitby and bridlington and scarborough have markets? and shops. sorry for questions , ive never gone anywere but skeggy ! and what caravan sites can people recommened?

Bridlington has a market Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday

Flamborough have a car boot every Sunday

In Scarborough you will find the usual high stree shops, Debenhams, M&S, Boots etc

More individual shops in Bridlington although there is an M&S albeit not a very good one.

There are lots of caravan sites in between Bridlington and Scarborough but would say that the biggest and the one that seems to spend the most money on their caravan park would be Primrose Valley - it is HUGE!
