animalrich
Hi, Does anybody know what happened to the girl who fell off the warehouse roof at the free party in Shalesmoor last night? There was a party in a warehouse just off Netherthorp Road, behind the shell garage. It was one of the after parties that followed on from peace in the park. At about 6 am the party finished very abruptly when a girl fell off the roof of the 4 story warehouse. The police and paramedics were there extremely quickly. A lot of people had climbed out through an upstairs window and were siting around relaxing on the flat roof of the warehouse that the party was in. Some people said they saw here moving, which I guess is a good sign, but I just wondered if anybody had any more information? I do hope she is ok. zombiekillah
I heard about this too. Glad i decided not to go .... I hope she is ok, but i wish the minority of partygoers would get some common sense. Accidents like this happen every couple of years, but there are still people willing to jeapordise the future of these wonderful events by putting themselves at risk. Ok, i've fallen out of a tree or 2 at parties but i would never consider getting on a warehouse roof . I heard that some of the organisers tried to get the people off the roof, but they didn't listen - now someone has paid the consequences, and everyone else had to stop having fun and go home. The authorities are very nice about us having these gatherings and rarely bother us , as 99.9% of the time everyone is safe, having a good time and cleaning up after themselves. Let's not do anything to jeapordise that relationship, we are very lucky to have as many parties as we do.

If the areas aren't properly manned, this is what may happen .. not everyone is seeing clearly at parties like this and you really need lots of "staffing" to make it completely safe. In saying this .. I hope they don't stop .. after parties are brilliant !!

They're usually staffed very well, door staff, 'barstaff', technical experts etc. Just some people have to be responsible for their own actions somewhere. mightysimo
I bet the people who organised the party get blamed for this rather then the ones at the party who had no commen sense. Hope she is ok tho.
