Just had a quote from Green-hands at Hackenthorpe.

Said it would be £240 labour plus about £600 for the grass at so called "friends rates"

Quote come through post today, the want £1767.60!!!

Works out at over 65 quid a square meter, needless to say we will look elsewhere.

There are many different qualities of artificial grass so your quotes are actually meaningless unless they are like for like. You need to decide on the type, quality and how much you want to spend per square metre. It is exactly like buying carpet. Also, preparation and ground work is key to a good finish so before accepting a quote make sure that this will be done correctly. Remember that the product will last for years, will always look good and will be almost maintenance free so in the end it will be value for money.

Anyone have an idea how much a 10ft x 14 ft patch of artifial grass would cost to have installed?

Only needs to be budget quality but not rough as for kids to play on.

Is it easy to install yourself?

Hi Oasismark

With a good quality grass at 35mm pile, dig out, replace with 50mm sand, skip, fixing boards would be around £800. Dependind on the grass and the site. Thanks

I'm sorry but the materials needed are a great deal. The grass alone is half of the price. There is quite a bit of work to be done.

Phil
