cgksheff
There is a letter in today's Star (not online yet) which appears to praise a Councillor for standing up for his principles and his constituents before his party. It states that Frank Taylor (Gleadless Valley) has left the LibDems to become an independent Councillor. The Council website has re-labelled him as 'Independent': http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/sys_upl/templates/PT_Councillor/PT_Councillor_details.asp?mapid=43&tid=153&pgid=921 Does anyone know what has gone off? C3PO
Probably conflict of principals. I can imagine there is very little flexibility in the party if you disagree with cabinet
Jops
Heard some rumour that he'd had a fall out with Scriven and co. a while ago, would appear that there was actually something behind it if he's left them.

Jops
Do you know something we dont ?? Not much, I'd heard some rumour he wasn't happy about the Lib Dem policy on the Decent Homes project, but then it went a bit quiet. I assume he had a reason to leave, dunno what it was. Jops
Today's Star has a story about this now, apparently he felt Cllr Scriven and the Lib Dem leadership were targetting spending to help Scriven's election campaign. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/Lib-Dem-councillor-quits-in.5361654.jp
