Who is the best artist in Sheffield?

Recommended Posts

Check out Martin Bedford:

Excellent artist, one of those involved in the birth of the Leadmill. He's really excellent and a top bloke as well. Has got a book coming out soon. Keep an eye out, it should be good.

Considering the range of art on offer in Sheffield, how could you possibly choose just one person?

I second Martin Bedford - excellent artist. Vibrant and imaginative posters for the Leadmill and other quality work. Best of all he's completely open and honest about art, and not full of himself like so many involved in the art world today. And an integral part of the history of one of Sheffield's main nightclubs. Top artist and really interesting bloke!

Mckee, although local graffiti tags by someone called 'sperd' are quite good.

They may look good in your area, but I dont want them in mine. Graffiti vandals should be chastised with a baseball bat.

Yes but 'WHAT is art?' and 'what is an artist?' :loopy:

Are we just talking about Paintings + Drawings?

It all comes down to the person and what they like, there was a lot of artists involved in 'Sheffield Open Up' this year

Any1 get chance to visit any of them??
