G8 Summit - The politics of it all and our right to protest thread

Recommended Posts

You can download the article in PDF format and there's a statement saying it's free to use for non comercial use, so I can in theory send you a copy if you really want to see it?

If so then PM me your email address and I'll download it and send it over to you.

Not sure if this has been mentioned earlier, but for those of you who were interested in seeing the protest (and more impressively the number of police and police cameras!) then check out the photos at:

http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/sheffield/2005/06/313705.html

(And related pages)

Those policemen at the top look familiar to me, is that Max and Paddy???

Hey Disco_cat. whose talking rubbish now. I rest my case

My original post was always that the police should allow a protest march as in Sheffield their has never been any trouble, again supported by events on Saturday.

Despite the fact the demonstrations have been unofficial the only violence I have seen has come from the police. If you have evidence to the contrary I’d like to see it.

I'm basing my udnerstanding of the demonstrations from things I've seen with my own eyes, supported by photographic evidence.

What are your posts based upon?

that was one of the most stupid evenings out I've had in a long time.

Those coppers must have been mind-numbingly bored and in need fo something to do. No other reason for pushing people off the streets and trapping them down side streets.

The number of horses and riot cops was unbelievable!

Wonder how much money they wasted on that load of old nonsense?
