Quizzical
I wonder if anyone can give me advice or point me in the right direction......I live in a two bedroom flat above a shop and it has got damp in the walls.... my landlord won't fix it he says its my problem not his....my young daughter of 5years has recently been put on an inhaler as she has had a really bad cough for 5 months now....(since we moved in) and I have been pretty ill myself...I'm also on anti-depressants coz of the stress caused. We are not happy here no more and I've given up trying to fight...we want to move out so hopefully our health will improve......I've found a private property but can not get the deposit and rent all together upfront.....has anyone any ideas of how we can achieve this.....or the sort of people who have ideas about what we can do to achieve a better lifestyle Thanks

CherryNicole
If you ring Sheffield Council Housing Aid they will be able to help get your landlord to sort it out. I had problems with damp and they came and inspected it and then told my landlord he had a certain amount of time to fix it or they'd take him to court. They were really helpful and friendly when I rang them: 0114 2735450
CherryNicole
And, it is your landlords responsibility so don't take that from him. There are things you can do to make sure the damp doesn't get worse, like making sure you open windows and stuff, but they will advise you on that too if you ring them!
