sheff71
Just seen highlights (or lowlights if your a blades fan lol) and Blackwell hinted He may be leaving after match ??? I thought it abit odd!!!! Wondered if he's trying to provoke McCabe into sacking him, so he can get a pay off... seems a daft thing to say otherwise. Looks like a beaten man now - shame really, as he can be a really nice bloke, but seems to have been living on his nerves recently.

A.B.Yaffle
On the SUFC site he's quoted as saying that now the parachute payments have ended the team will need to be rebuilt and players will be leaving, and he may have taken the club as far as he can. Burnley and Wolves have both gone up without relying on parachute payments, so it may be that he is just saying all this in the heat of the moment because he is upset. I would like to see Speed take over, with Blackwell as his assistant. Can't see it happening though.

He's only recently given him an extention on his contract. Mind you, wasn't Mr Sturrock given an extention just before he was sacked?
MR BENN
its going to be even harder to get out of the championship next season with the size and spending power of the teams that have come down -amybe he has realised that this was the best chance the blades had to get up. I think it will be even poorer next season. Anyone could go up. Newcastle won't have much spending power, they'll have to strip their squad - they are up **** creek by the sounds of it. Boro will have to sell a few, but they have a few good academy players in their first team who'll probably stay and do well - McMahon, Bates, Johnson, Wheater etc. West Brom are just a yo-yo team, so they'll be up near the top. I wouldn't be surprised if Wednesday or United are both at the top end, the league is shockingly bad.

Until we know the ins and outs over the summer, it's hard to predict too accurately - though as mentioned elsewhere, WBA are a strong club at this level, and could easily run away with it. then it's for the rest to fight out the other spots - the quality in this division is pretty low across the board. HeadingNorth
I think it will be even poorer next season. Anyone could go up. Newcastle won't have much spending power, they'll have to strip their squad Much of their problem lies in the fact that they may struggle to do that. None of their players' contracts include a relegation clause, so which players are going to leave unless a Premiership team offers (at least) as much money as they're currently getting? And, based on their form this season - which Premiership teams are going to offer that much? I don't foresee Newcastle being involved in the promotion race next season. I can easily see them repeating Leeds' recent performances and going into admin, the third division, or worse. Middlesbrough, I don't really see being involved although it would be no great surprise if they were. WBA, almost certainly, WILL be involved .. Reading, most likely ... SUFC, also highly likely to feature. After that, it could be anyone.
daftlad
I think Blackwell should go. Any manager that puts Craig Beattie in the team ahead of Lupoli, clearly has not got a clue. Felt sorry for Monty and the two Kyles yesterday they all put un a fantastic perfrmance yesterday
