dosxuk Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Ah, right. So it's composite out (RGB) and then red/white for audio. I own a megadrive, it's much easier when it's just a scart! Saying that..... It's actually component video when there are three (or five) connectors - RGB components (and sometimes syncs too) sent as seperate signals down the cables. Composite out is when all three colours and syncs are composited together on one cable. Scart is a nightmare for cabling - you can never tell for sure which of the many different versions of wiring a particular cable, adaptor or piece of equipment supports until you plug it in and try. Once you add on the problem that the connectors are almost suicidal in their ability to stay connected, it all adds up to one of the most stupid connector designs ever! BNCs & XLRs FTW! Edit: OP - you might have better luck asking for a stereo phono extension lead. A female cable would normally have female connectors on both ends, like the adaptor Chris suggested.
