MR BENN Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 With due respect, there is a major difference between the two, not only did allen have money , he put it into the club. Stafford however talks the talk, but its all lip service. no backers, no cash, have the Owls fans seen through this ploy, have they not heard the spin, the takeovers etc etc. Maybe some/many will now vote with their feet. It was not Allens fault your gate fell as low as 15,000 this season, Nor his fault early gates averaged below 18,000. It is not Allens fault your season ticket sales are so poor. Allen was the reason gates fell -fans voted with their feet when he started insulting them and threatening to sue . chairmen come and go -fans are there forever
wemblybound Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 The reality is probably something different although it doesn't show in Season Ticket sales. Your average crowd last season was 26203, ours was 21541 which equates to 18% less. Now if the average price of a ticket at our place is more than 18% more than yours then surely we will have spent more in ticket sales than you. I suspect that it is with all your free season tickets for kids and your cheaper adult tickets, although I'm happy to be corrected if someone can give a definitive answer. # i will give a definitive answer. one that you keep ignoring. this season derby tkts for hillsbrough 23 quid behind the goal. at bramall lane 28 quid behind the goal. hows that work out if its cheaper at yours. you choose to pay your golf subscriptions than to take your two boys to a game at the sty. shame on you top dad. i'm sure your grandad found a potato quicker than you'll answer this.

Can I add Taken from both official websites Kop us 349 Valad Stand 499 Malta Family 449 under 16 129 under 13 69 Yours Kop 333 South stand 468 North Stand 405 under 18 209 under 11 103 Therefore ALL your tickets are cheaper than ours not like TITanic tries to tell us 18% dearer #Sorry all bar the kida shame on you Wednesday the Kids are the future
animal2477 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 A i would add a better stadium, more support, better financial status, a stable forward looking board, worldwide interests etc etc. the way i see it more support i dont think so when your were crap a few years ago your attendane was what between 12,000-15,000 but since you started challengening for stuff like promotion and good cup runs and all over of a sudden your crowds have gone up and up,at the same period when you were crap and we were good when we were challenging for stuff like europe, cup finals top end of the premier league our crowds were 30,000 week in week out,but now were are crap fans our attendances have dropped just like yours did, point being fans loose paitiance and when your not getting results people stop going, there is as many wednesday fans as utd fans.as for worldwide intrest in either team thats not happening either take the last derby of the season were both supposed to be big clubs but were we on tv anywhere?nope cause were both crap and no one gives a s**t bout either club apart from the people who support them.
WAWAW Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 to the op. Results are usually on a monday. As its a bank holiday, make it tuesday. COCKadoodledoo
Titanic99 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Can I add Taken from both official websites Kop us 349 Valad Stand 499 Malta Family 449 under 16 129 under 13 69 Yours Kop 333 South stand 468 North Stand 405 under 18 209 under 11 103 Therefore ALL your tickets are cheaper than ours not like TITanic tries to tell us 18% dearer #Sorry all bar the kida shame on you Wednesday the Kids are the future You silly sod, you’ve posted your new prices and are renewal ones, here’s a more accurate comparison on renewal prices (as most of yours will be). Valad £379 Wednesday South £468 Difference 19% more Malta £379 Wednesday North £405 Difference 6.5% more Evolution £379 Kop £279 Kop £333 Difference 16% more On top of this, you also have the free children up to the age of 13, meaning our costs are 100% more between 8 and 13. If I really wanted to be argumentative I could also point out that the above comparisons aren’t really fair either as we already know (you tell us often enough) your starting position is with 20,000 existing season ticket holders whereas a large portion of ours will be for new buyers (including myself) so really a comparison between your renewal prices and our new ones would be as relevant as the above. However, going back to my point, I think I have demonstrated that Wednesday fans are spending as much as, if not more than United on ticket prices alone. What they aren’t doing is spending these on Season Ticket and I think the information posted above clearly shows the reasons for this.
wemblybound Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 [quote=animal2477;5043924 we were good when we were challenging for stuff like europe, cup finals top end of the premier league our crowds were 30,000 week in week out, your crowds hav'nt been 30.000 week in week out since 1968. our crowds were 30,000 week in week out 2 year back when we were in a relegation dog fight and not a sniff of europe.

Try and work out the sums, I've tried explaining it but I'll give it one more go but try and show me the bit you don't understand: Your average gates 26,000+ Our average gates 21,000+ Your season ticket sales 20,000 Our season ticket sales 10,000 Average cost of going to a game for a season ticket holder at your place factoring all of them in £16 (for example) Means you have 20,000 people paying £16 At our place we have 10,000 people paying £20 This leaves you with 6000 people paying on the door, with concession and cheap games let's say this is £20 each At our place we have 11000 paying £21 each. This would mean that both clubs are generating very similar amount of money from ticket sales.(430-440,000 per game). I don't have the exact figures and people are free to speculate on what these would be, but this does show both sets of fans paid roughly the same out last season. Now I apologise if it is beyond your ability to work this out, perhaps someone else could try to explain it to you.
al_partridge Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 All this "we've sold this many and you've only sold that many" argument is all crap. Blades, just ask yourselves and try and answer honestly how many people would be going to your games and buying season tickets if you were in Wednesday's position and had just gone through the decade we have. If it's too difficult for you, a fairly near comparison would probably be in about 2000, when your fantastic support could only muster up an average of less than 13,000 fans week in week out - and that's when you hadn't even had a bad a time of it as Wednesday have. As the saying goes, where were you when you were s.....
