MR BENN Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Banter aside, your new set up promised cheaper season tickets, with the view to gaining better attendances. Of course budgets do come into it, Look north has annouced over 39,000 blades are going on monday, we all accept the few £98 tickets are out of the pocket range of most fans. reading your previous comments and you state prices are a major factor, in low sales. Have your board let you down? compared to the man previously in charge ,the new chairman can do no wrong im my eyes. he is slowly repairing the major damage caused by Allen
Paul Blade Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Not sure about that, there was a cheaper renewal price for anyone who had one in the last three seasons (I think I missed that by one year). I think renewal prices on the Kop are £339 and new £370 but I could be wrong. Could it be that he's gone into a different age bracket? Not AFAIK straight renewal Been going since 12 now 20
blades 71 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 The Wendy's are better at excuses than we are let them play in a half empty stadium and live from taking six points from us if that's the best they can do good luck to them, Wembley tickets we have a choice granted most blades would like to pay less than £98 per ticket given the fact that we have just paid for nxt season up front took 10,000 to Palace and had two playoff games, If you support your club you would pay i thought this was the dawn of a new era new chairman the band are back you took six points from us yet still only 5,000 fans you can make all the excuses you want that's a shocking display of loyalty yet again my Wendy friends with the best you can hope for being games against us if we dont go up ! Christ how will the Championship survive next season if Newcastle come down talk about the clash of the big club mentality Get your hands in your pockets and support your club !!!!!

Well said that man
Titanic99 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Get your hands in your pockets and support your club !!!!! The reality is probably something different although it doesn't show in Season Ticket sales. Your average crowd last season was 26203, ours was 21541 which equates to 18% less. Now if the average price of a ticket at our place is more than 18% more than yours then surely we will have spent more in ticket sales than you. I suspect that it is with all your free season tickets for kids and your cheaper adult tickets, although I'm happy to be corrected if someone can give a definitive answer.

Titanic99 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 but hasn't the hero that you worship also implemented free kids under 8 I don't worship anyone, you are correct though in that under 8's are free if purchased with an adult season ticket. BTW I was discussing last season in resposne to a point made about Wednesday fans not spending.
MR BENN Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 but hasn't the hero that you worship also implemented free kids under 8 no knocking Lee Stafford here-he is superb . to have a chairman that values fans is lovely after suffering that idiot allen for years. this is the difference between the two STAFFORD repairing the damage in the relationship between the club and the fans has put together a proper business plan is trying different ways of getting the fans back is open ,honest and keepsa the fans informed of whats happening has done more in 6 months that the previous chairman did in years ALLEN destroyed the relationship between the club and fans run a rudderless ship at Hillsbro along with the rest of the dads army in the boardroom tried sueing his own fans(including a man with cancer) called his own clubs fans cretins and morons need i say more -when allen left we were having crowds of 15,000 so ,yes Stafford is very well liked at Hillsbro -even if he dosnt manage to bring in investment
TAT Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 With due respect, there is a major difference between the two, not only did allen have money , he put it into the club. Stafford however talks the talk, but its all lip service. no backers, no cash, have the Owls fans seen through this ploy, have they not heard the spin, the takeovers etc etc. Maybe some/many will now vote with their feet. It was not Allens fault your gate fell as low as 15,000 this season, Nor his fault early gates averaged below 18,000. It is not Allens fault your season ticket sales are so poor.
Carmel_Nick Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Exactly what facts am I tainting, is it not a reality that: United have a better side than Wednesday United have considerably cheaper season tickets than Wednesday That people won't tend to purchase an inferior and more expensive product when more than one option exists who would want to pay decent prices for a mid-table average team in the championship?
