Carmel_Nick Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 At the risk of upsetting one or two of you, can I ask what you’d think about handing over a designated area of your expensive seats to Burnley fans unable to get tickets for the game. I’ve just been looking on 606 website and there are a few people suggesting coming over to the lane to buy tickets for your end, so why don’t you pre-?empt any trouble by setting a designated area of your expensive seats aside and offering them to Burnley to sell. Surely as true football fans, you wouldn’t want people to miss such an important game and if segregation is sorted then surely everyone’s a winner. Posted as a suggestion with a view to determining peoples attitude towards the idea, would prefer the usual suspects avoid responding with their normal insults. why dont you mind your own buisness and stick to your mid-table football club?
Paul Blade Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 So how have you reached these conclusions? Do you not think the thread is relevant, would you be happy if it was the other way round and you couldn't get a ticket. You could of course try discussing the issue instead of throwing your insults around. For the record, your information is inconsistent with what is being said on Burnley forums and unless you have some inside knowledge of how many tickets are left for the £98 price range it is also likely to be inaccurate in relation to the number of tickets left. In relation to your comments about me being sad could you confirm what rules it is that you believe I should play to on these threads, are we not allowed to start threads and make posts that are accurate but offend your love of your club. It is a debating section and I don't see anything that I've posted that merits these comments. To throw it back at you "unless you have some inside knowledge of how many tickets are left for the £98 price range it is also likely to be inaccurate in relation to the number of tickets left" Unless you work at the lane Your posts are inaccurate
Titanic99 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 why dont you mind your own buisness and stick to your mid-table football club? Another of our self-appointed forum rule enforcement officers, kindly share with us what your rules are on us posting on here, how about: Thou shall not mention Shrewsbury Thou shall not mention Gillingham Thou shall not mention Semi-final play-off attendances Thou shall not mention failure to sell all your tickets Thou shall not mention Burnleys ability to sell all their allocation Thou shall make no reference to previous attendances at play-offs involving either Sheffield club So basically we are the Sheffield forum, but we cannot discuss matters concerning all of the above. But we can listen to you going on about how many season tickets you've sold!

My post cannot be classed as either accurate or inaccurate as I made no reference to the numbers available, for the record i said the following: "Tickets together in the £98 (Hence my suggestion just to allocate them a section of these if segregation can be sorted)" As you can see this can be any number and only if segregation can be sorted.
grafikhaus74 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Just 500 left tonight. And they will still be on sale. Plank.

But we can listen to you going on about how many season tickets you've sold! That's the point. Burnley did that by allowing umpteen (well, two or three!) per season ticket holder, and hiving off a huuuuuuuuge lump to an agency. Not quite the same thing as you're implying, as we had a wholly different sales policy. Well done to Glentoran too! Just 500 left tonight. And they will still be on sale. Plank. And we were allocated 500 extra tickets by Wembley as well. Not in the prawn sandwich club seats either!
grafikhaus74 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Save your breath, HH. Here is just one example of Titanics febrile ramblings from 13th May: I share your concerns, this play-off final could be historic for the lowest attendance in its history if Burnley and yourselves don't get your act together. Worse still it could be bettered by the league one final if Leeds get through! Or did he mean 'lowest season ticket sales in Wendy's history?
Titanic99 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Just 500 left tonight. And they will still be on sale. Plank. Another insult thrown, why can't you discuss in a civilised manner? The website makes no reference to numbers available (unusual for United as they normally like to share this information) so are you saying that you have inside knowledge on this or are you speculating.

Thanks for the Glentoran comment, it made my weekend when the Gibson Cup went back to East Belfast. The point of this thread is to try and ascertain whether or not United fans would be prepared to give up their unsold tickets to Burnley fans. This is irrespective of how tickets have been sold as the fact remains that Burnley fans are without tickets and some are desperate to get their hands on one if the national football forums are to be believed. If what some are advocating is, or has already happened then you may have some of their fans in your end of the ground, so wouldn't it be more sensible (if segregration could be arranged) for you to give them the blocks of tickets you have left. This might be 100,200,300,400,500 or a Thousand, but to them people this ticket is priceless so why shouldn't you just hand them over if logistics allow for it. Put another way, if United ever get to a Champions League final and you were in the same position as they are now, would you be happy if the seats were left unsold.

Here is just one example of Titanics febrile ramblings from 13th May: Or did he mean 'lowest season ticket sales in Wendy's history? That comment was basd on the poor attendances for the play-off semi-finals. I believe both clubs have sold more than I expected for this game given the current financial climate. However this is not what the thread is about, so do you have a thought on whether or not the unsold tickets should go to Burnley.
