It's the people the Council employ! I get seconded every now and again and the offices I have to work out of are fulll of wierd, unpolite, odd people! I hitnk SCC employs only a certain type of person, not everyone is like this of course, but the majority are.

You dyslexic?

I would loooove to get a job in Sheffield Council. BUT, being realistic , I fear that I shall have to blow a leg or two off first and frown at everyone I see.

:rant:Am i asking too much for a please and thank-you when paying my over the top council tax. Just been and payed my monthy council tax payment and the teller never even looked at me or spoke from start to finnish. Do they take lessons in ignorance or does it come natural to them. And before any one asks, yes i did say good morning and thankyou to them, might not do in future though.

I thought the collection of Council Tax has been outsourced to Capita!

So you've encountered a member of staff who is a bit off with you, they may just be having a bad day after all they're only human or maybe they've had to put up with dozens of ignorant members of the public who seem to think it is perfectly okay to shout at the front line staff and blame them for whatever problem has arisen.

I sometimes take the time of day to actually ask how the person is or are they having a fun day it can generate a smile and happy response although I have to be careful not to do this in the supermarket when there's a line of people behind me.

In reality, I never see much of council workers, they are always away from work, on the sick, in Ibiza or somewhere.

Sorry to say but it's a regular thing, allways the same , sour faces, no smiles and no verbal activity at all.

I work for the council and I take offence to your comments, after all we recently had lots of training in customer service.

My advice to you is :-

1) shove off

2) stop moaning

Well i hope the council did'nt pay an outside company to give you your customer training, if they did they ought to claim a refund as the customer training course was of no use at all to you was it.
