Hi eightlegger.I remember a Dennis Arnold who was at A.E.Evans on Queens Road before they moved to Cricket Inn Road.I think he left in 1970ish when I started with them.I also worked with a Dave Plummer at Naylor and Wagstaffes in Parkway Market in 1969,got to be the same Dave I reckon?

He's the same Dave Plummer then Bryan.I recall him telling me he worked for Ross Garages (whatever happened to them?).The last time I saw him was at Glass Glover or maybe it was Winbloodycanton then at Maltby when he came in on an agency job.I was shunting and didn't recognise him until he told me who he was.Must have been early 2000's,can't remember exactly. He was a great bloke to work with, you had to stick together on that market job driving - not enough hours in t'day..............................................:hihi:

I wondered what happened to them Bryan, thanks.I think they were a Swansea based company and were maybe the first in Sheffield area to have well trailers for coils - luxury indeed.:cool:I once picked one of their trunkers up about 6-00am at Monmouth when on my way to Llanwern. He was from Swansea and had run out of time, dumping the artic,a Scania 110 I think,in a lay-by at Raglan.

Nearest I got to Middle East was Lincoln.I'll bet you have some tales to tell.:)

I notice you worked out of Stewart and Lloyds on Rutland Road.Prestons off Woodburn Road had an Albion 4-wheeler in there when I worked for them in 1968/69 but I can't recall the driver's name - it could have been Henry, not sure.
