Did you ever live in Parson Cross? (Part 2)

Recommended Posts

Bloody hell - what a memory. Bernard Atkins - we were speaking about him the other day, he taught me to play crib!

I was there the night he died.

Had a coughing fit while going for double 16, went out for a breath of fresh air, sat on the little fence and.. well, that was it.

Yeah Walt was lovely guy. He didn't have a chair in those days but was quite severley palsied. Watching him light a fag was always interesting as he had to co-ordinate in a way which was very difficult for him - never heard him complain though

Did you ever play golf with him...he was amazing. Had a couple of rounds with him and some mates in a park ( forgot name...think it was near Shiregreen club...or mabe confused with something else). He also had his own puttng course in his back garden.

Yup thats right! Archie was Pauline, Sheilah and Malcolms` dads name

Malcolm had mental issues but he was a brilliant artist! I remember him showing me some of his paintings once and they were incredible!

My mum was a carer at a home for the mentally ill at Pitsmoor and Malcolm Stocks was a resident, I don't know if he's still there, she retired 2 years ago
