last i heard it was being run by a pub co who in turn get a manager to run it for them, they couldnt make it pay so its anyones guess as to what happens with it

you mention the parkins. were they on colley road? if so what happened to them..frank parkin is my dad not seen him since i was 2

I knew Frank and Lesley Parkin very well, sadly Lesley passed away and Frank moved from Colley road and I haven't seen him since except for one occasion in town but even that is quite a while ago. So sorry

Anyone know David Parkin, lived on Adlington Rd in the 50's?

 

Yes I know David Parkin, he is married to my sister in law. He is in hospital at the moment having a knee replacement again.

He is married with two daughters, one who now lives in America.

I see The Tavern has closed. Is that it do we think?

 

it will end up demolished and houses or flats built on it-just like the huntsman-and a great pint they did

My dad was always in tavern in the 80s,was a decent pub at the time.

My dad was always in tavern in the 80s,was a decent pub at the time.

 

My Aunt and Uncle were the landlords during the 70's/80's.

back in the 90's the tavern was always packed out,,,especially when the tombola finished at 10.30 in colley club and people used to walk onto the tavern or the beagle for last orders

I use to live on the parson cross near the Ritz cinema No146

I remember everyone dancing at the on the front pavement at the VE day selebrations
