There was an arrow on the handle, and if the arrow was pointing towards you (which it never was) you got an extra pack

It's a bit like pressing button "B" in a phone box

 

Oh Yeh - I remember now! I'd completely forgotten about that, probably because it never happened!!

we used to stick 2 or 3 matches up the slot in the phone boxes so the pennies would get stuck when someone pressed button B , then we used to search all the phone boxes hoping for a "windfall"

If you’re in town this Bank Holiday Weekend, pop round the Peace Gardens, as there is a foto exhibition (Old Pictures of Sheffield) in one of the summer log cabins, the one opposite the Pasty Shop.

Well worth a visit

I lived on Parson Cross, Rokeby Road for many years and went to Colley School.., when it looked like a cow shed.

Hi I STILL live here since 1948, my Dad used to keep his car in a rented garage on Rokeby road.

i know that law bros was on wadsley bridge but they did many trips from colley club and the parson cross hotel,,i hope you remember the coaches and the drivers in pond street
