Many of the stories in it started life as small items here on The Forum, and you’ll no doubt recognize some of them (Country Dancing in Grenoside and Day trips to Cleethorpes to name but two)

Enjoy!!

Hi

The only people I knew from that area were the Smith brothers, Dave and Ian. Both really good footballers. Dave was an apprentice at Huddersfield for a while.Their dad Brian ran the Colley YC team in the early seventies

Hi there. Our Tracy is in Grimsby. Shes a grandma to 4 now. Shes a teaching assistant in primary school. Will remember you to her when we speak tomorrow. If I had seen this earlier I was speaking with her today.

Yes I remember Jill. I knocked about with girls in her year. Whats your first name?

I havent got grand kids yet. Only 1 son. 19. Our Denise if you knew her, shes got 4 grand children. Lives High Green. Thanks for replying x

Our Tracy does remember you. Your also a Tracey with an "E". Your husbands cousin Sharon, married to Graham Medley lives in a house at the bottom of our Denises garden (well over the fence on the next road). Graham was anothe lad who we knocked about with for a while when we was kids.He lived round the corner to us on Chaucer. x

I knew Graham well.A bit of a comic. Same age as me I think. Went to Yew Lane. Used to drive the 79/89 bus. Always closed his eyes as he went through the bus gate at the top of Adlington 'cause he didn't think he would make it
