the plans are that there is going to be a new council office directly accross fron the one now on wordsworth,, there is going to be a new medical centre on the same land and the new proposed asda is where the plot where gunnies and old shoppers paradise was when it gets demolished

Asda is going on the field of Chaucer school near the Wordsworth roundabout end. As far as I have seen there isn't a petrol station included, but there will be a George section. (got a leaflet from the library with info on)

Where Gunnies is, is going to be the new medical centre, with the other side where the chinese is, going to be the new library and learning centre. The housing office will be on the same side but across the side road.

Photo here of a team based at Thommy More’s on Wordsworth in about 1975/76

Thommy More's 1975

Back row includes Pat Smythe, Mick Fox, Johnny White and Mick Bush

Front row is Steve Bush and Pete Bush

Can anyone offer anymore names??

It was a rough team – their main purpose was to build up a thirst for the Sunday afternoon session in The Cross

Mick Ellis and Tony Smythe I think
