Sad news, I knew Karen as a teenager, through my friendship with Keith. My condolences to Keith and her family.

Thanks Mike. Good to see you still involved with this forum. Karen was my younger sister, as you know and we were all shocked by her contracting a very nasty cancer.

On a positive note, all who attended the funeral were mesmerised by the antics of a lovely black velvet butterfly which danced in front of the large window (Grenoside crematorium North Chapel) before dashing forwards towards Karen's son and husband and then finally, in the closing moments, ascending vertically and disappearing. Not many people who knew my sister (and her love of practical jokes) are in any doubt what they witnessed.

My thanks to Karen's Grimesthorpe friends who attended, and Hindy who drove over to meet me afterwards.
