How can Hunsley St cross Botham St, they run parallel with one another?

 

Quite correct it was on the corner of the street that connected them it was 40 yrs ago now can you remember it or not?

If my memory serves me well, It was on the corner of Cyclops Street and Grimesthorpe Road

There was what used to be a shop at the top of Botham St on the left if you were looking down the street, it might have been a butchers at one time, I seem to remember a faded name (Starbucks or something similar) above the old store front. I think it ceased being a shop around the begining of WW2.

Targett's shop was on Hunsley st straight across from where i lived,but the backyard entrance was on Petre St.

Hi Allgin, it should be in September and it was suggested it be held at Chapeltown, but it was also said that a Grimesthorpe reunion should be held, in Grimesthorpe, so its open to debate.

Chapletown was a nice venue but the forum members should voice their opinions as to where the reunion should take place? On a different note I have noticed more Grimesthorpe threads popping up ie. Smiths field,Butchers on Petre st,and the Who can Tell on Bothem st.....

Have you had any trouble getting on grimesthorpe

forum, i've not been able to get a look in since a week last sunday.

The forum team had checked it out and said it was ok, but anyway

here i am up and running up to now and hoping to catch up

with things, let us know and if you know of anyone else as had

problems.

You are correct hehe but before that Crooks and Byltons had lived there before the Pickerings and on that corner there had been a shop but had ceased being so for as long as I can ever remember.

Buddy Brian never mind one bit talking to you on any thread but for me personal my slight anoy at at Grimsthorpe thread goes way back when trying to ask a question only to be drowned out by "lets go down to the pub"and "how often do you change your rubber knickers" and when I hit the wrong button two old ladys was discusing how falsely boost up numbers by idle chat, at that time did make me a little mad the Moderators could have put a stop to S.F abuse but I did get a P.M says you'll get nowhere as one of the mods mother comes from Grimsthorpe so they can do no wrong over the last two years this as proven to be true as no other thread is allowed this freedom mumble mumble moan grumble:rant::rant::hihi:
