Hi Sheila, Just had to put this picture on here, you might have

seen it on elsewhere.

If my memory serves me right i think there's something missing

in this picture.

Somut that was near the top shop for years.

Any ideas, Anyone any clues. :hihi:

I've asked this before, did Bernard McAllan emigrate overseas? He lived in the middle portion of Botham St, some of his neighbours were, Harris, Archers and Golland across the street, not that far from Higginbottoms, who lived on the lower section as I recall, I believe that Derek Higginbottom sister is on the forum, perhaps she could shed light on this or anybody else for that matter.

Hiya Fleetwood, I can't recall some of them names only derek

higginbottoms.

But that wasn't owt to do with my story, so look at picture again

and see what is missing near top shop.

I realise that it's nothing to do with your story brian1941 but there are many other story's on the Grimesthorpe Thread also.

Bri are you thinking of the bus shelter,it was lower down near to our yard,where that chap is stood there is a lean to were the potatoes and other crates of fruit and veg were kept,bearing inmind this photo was taken in 1941 when the war was still on so they wouldn't have had the materials to build the bus shelter.Jean J

In the 50/60s plus while i live in Grimesthorpe there was something

stood about where the street light is, what was it

i think he was Jimmy biggins father he had a nickname called (tazan) if

i'v spelt it right.

Bri iv'e no idea whats missing I only know what was there as I was growing up,even those buildings were the lorry is wasn't there just a wall.
