walt   10 #1329 Posted December 2, 2009 http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n297/Rawson21/wincoroad2.jpg  I was intrigued by this photo I found on the internet of Wincobank Lane, particulary the sign above the house on Winco Road. Was it a star ? The second coming perhaps ? The birth of Steve H ? Then i thought no, get real, this is Grimesthorpe, where would they get three wise men, and if that were'nt difficult enough where on earth would they find a virgin ? This picture was originally published on the 4th June 1956 in the Grimesthorpe Bugle, a well known local publication. Many of you will remember 'Spot The Ball' in the Green Un, the Bugle tried a similar competition, 'Spot the Smoke'. The lucky winner was Steven Highfield who received a postal order for 2/6. The virgin query is proving more difficult.
 Share this content via...
