RubyTuesday Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Has anyone read the review of Moran's in Dore in yesterday's Guardian? Absolutely glowing review from a rather fearsome critic. Said the food and service were both consistently excellent, and not at all what he'd expected from the restaurant setting. I'd never heard of it before and am now looking forward to trying it - always nice to find somewhere new!
Mr Doctor Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I've been at a weekend lunchtime, and found it very nice indeed (aside from the small children that were dashing around half the time I was there). Couldn't fault the place itself at all.
KatWoman Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I've been twice and both times the meals were lovely. One of my friends had her 21st birthday there and unfortunately I couldn't go, but from what I've heard I really missed out!
pete_jim Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Been a few times and really enjoyed it. It has that wonderful combination of good food and service that complements it.

purple_frog Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Brought my parents there last year, and it was the nicest restaurant experience any of us had had in ages - delish food, comfortable setting, lovely friendly staff. Haven't read the review, but I'm glad to hear it was glowing!
Tricky Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Going this Saturday for 1st time, hope its as good as they say. Hope you enjoy it after the big build up. I have been hugely impressed every time I've been. If they changed the menu more often, I'd go a lot more.
pippadoll Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Well done Moran's that was a fabulous review and score. I'd never heard of Moran's until the review, so they must be keeping it local. Great to hear of somewhere in Sheffield making great food. Although we went to Rafters the day of his review last year and whilst he gave it 7.5, which is great from him, the food and ambiance was excellent.
