Bonj   10 #39 Posted March 23, 2009 I used to work at Roberts Brothers, my brother ran the restaurant (and later so did my Mum) and I helped out behind the bar at lunchtimes and on a night for weddings and other do's. I also remember selling strawberries outside on the Moor and one of the department managers passing by and saying very loudly, "What is this shop coming to!" Does anyone remember the "Rare and Racy" record shop - I got most of my prog rock records second hand from there.
 Share this content via...
fleetwood   10 #40 Posted March 23, 2009 Barney Goodmans still have a shop on Ecclesall Road.  I don't believe the owners were related to 'Barney' and were probably too young to have worked for him at anytime, so I wonder how they acquired the name?
