the chopper bikeas are back but not quite the same as in the 70's

What about romeo and juliets, Top rank,crazy daisy,snood scarfs, pewter grey tights,and numerous trendy hairstyles like the shaggy dog, done at roger sherwoods or george france.

would have been a bit pointless doing that. The place was a muggers and wino's paradise anyway.
But you could close the exits every evening and fill it with poisonous gas! :)

Definitely, when I was growing up I used to fall asleep to the sound of the hammers! And a proper city centre. And buses with platforms on the back. Oh, and my youth!!!

Sheffield christmas lights all the way up to bottom of commercial street from the bottom of the moor, loooked beautiful and really got you in the christmas spirit

Full employment so there was sufficient money in the area to support and grow the facilities that make a city worth living in.

Fletchers Bread vans - any one remember ice fancies? They were like cherry bakewells but you could get lemon and chocolate icing with chocolate bits on the top!:bigsmile:
