'Do not resuscitate' necklaces

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where I could get such a necklace or bracelet?

As I get older I know I would not want to live as an invalid after a stroke/heart attack. I have a living will, which I always carry with me, but a necklace would be instantly visible, and I would feel much easier if I wore one.

I would rather have a DO RESUSCITATE necklace. When I pop it they will have to drag me out kicking and screaming, even if I am wearing a colostomy bag.

One way to do it, but it isn't cheap, is to join MedicAlert.

A necklace/tags/bracelet carries the MedicAlert emblem and medical staff will respond to this and contact MedicAlert to find out what your specific details are.

You register all your details when you join.

Many use this when diabetic, epileptic etc. but you can also register your living will with them.

Needs an annual subscription, though.

Probably cheaper to get a tattoo!

Just having a stupid blonde moment there.. :hihi:

I'll be quiet now... :D

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check those out.

And apologies to Redissert and Sarah1 for the confusion. I think it was me having a senior moment in not making up a better title. :loopy:

I have a S.O.S necklace you can buy them from HM Samuels around £30 I think plus other places it comes with piece of paper what is inside the necklace and pulls out. You can put alsorts on it including blood group and alergys aswell as medication.

The care home I work at use the DNR bracelets if the families request it, also our police dept offers cards for you to fill out about your medical history, what meds your on, it's to be kept in your car...just incase!

Gosh I don't know whether to be flattered or not.

My posts frequently mention my age so, on the one hand you must have missed those, but then other posts must have made me sound young.

For the record I'm 61 and female.

What I'm not telling is whether I'm one of those women who always knock a few years off. ;)
