ARMANI 10 #1 Posted February 28, 2009 I'm trying to install 4OD on my computer and keep getting the error message: Error 1904.Module C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9d.ocx failed to register. HRESULT - 2147220473. Contact your support personnel Once this has been displayed the installation cancels. I've got the latest version of flash player, and I've tried googling it but most of the stuff that comes up is quite technical, any ideas? Thanks
 Share this content via...
Pr0187 10 #2 Posted February 28, 2009 Please attempt the steps below (it is most likely that carrying out step 1 will resolve your issue) 1. Please ensure that KService.exe and KHost.exe are added as exceptions to your antivirus, spyware and firewall software and allowed full access to the internet. Sometimes security software mistakenly blocks KService.exe and KHost.exe but they 100% safe services that are essential to 4oD. For a step by step guide about configuring your security software please see our help pages: http://help.channel4.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?LBound=61,St=19,E=0000000000036701491,K=7052,Sxi=8 KService.exe and KHost.exe are stored here: C:\Kontiki Please test 4oD using free content. If you still experience difficulties follow the instructions below. 2. Check if KService has been registered as a Windows service. a. In WindowsXP: - Click ‘Start’ then ‘Run’. - Type services.msc and press enter/return. b. In Windows Vista: - Open the search box on the start menu type services.msc and press enter/return. - Follow and UAC prompts. 3. On the list of services look for ‘KService’. a. If it is present and does not have a status of ‘Started’ the right-click on it and select Start. Attempt to start 4oD. If this fails then skip to step 8. b. If it is not present continue with step 4 below. 4. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges: a. In WindowsXP: - Ensure you are logged in as an Administrator. - Click ‘Start’ the ‘Run’. - Type cmd and press enter/return. b. In Windows Vista: - Open the search box on the start menu and type cmd. - Right-click on the cmd program that is shown. - Select ‘Run as Administrator’ and follow the UAC prompts. 5. Type “C:\Program Files\Kontiki\KService.exe” –service and press enter/return. 6. When this has completed, type ‘net start kservice’ and press enter/return. 7. The above command will return “The KService was started successfully” 8. If this doesn’t resolve the problem please send us the installation log, Kontiki error logs and the system information file.
