First Group Trouble at the mill

Recommended Posts

Its possible that some form of industrial action will take place at First soon, Olive grove's driver's union held an emergency meeting ysterday to discuss the dismissal of a shop steward and the huge rise in discipline's and dismissal's. The general feeling from driving staff is something need's to be done and it needs to be done now. It has been reported that the relationship between drivers and management is in steady decline.

This meeting has nothing to do with pay claims and is purley in relation to working conditions.

Somehow I don't think that First got to where they are (running a large proportion of Britian's public transport network) by being nice to people. They're a ruthless coorporation who are answerable only to their shareholders.

Steady decline is the understatement of the year so far.

The drivers treat their customers like crap, why shouldn't disciplinary action be taken against them?

With the nanny culture we live in, he must have had it coming otherwise he would employ a solicitor who would take them to the cleaners.

Your bitter for a reason and that reason is for what? May be you like to treat individuals less favourably because you think its correct for an employer to treat their employees in an under hand manner. but don't take my word for it go and do the job they take any one on regardless of your ability to do the job.

If the workforce are at logger heads with a corrupt management then yes stand up to them as would be expected with any one who makes statements that can not justify their rational.

Just be happy you can have your say with out been disciplined for having a point of view.
