s8design   10 #25 Posted March 2, 2009 your site will not let me log in, although it recognises that I am registered. any ideas? cheers  Hi Ron,  You account appears to be active, I suggest trying to reset your password (this goes for anyone else having the same trouble)  You can do this by visiting tradesheffield.co.uk and clicking on "reset your password" (located in the login box on the right)  Simply enter the email you originally registered and further instructions will be sent to that address.  Hope this helps, let me know if you need further assistance
 Share this content via...

Raggy   10 #27 Posted March 19, 2009 I've just logged in. There was a message telling me to add products I buy and sell. I added a product range then it said I had to add a starting price. This is a bit strange as I sell anything from 10p to £10,000 so not really relevant. Anyhow I added a price and it then told me I had to choose a subcategory, which I had previously done, but the subcategory drop down box is greyed out and not available. Gave up. sanjidm   10 #28 Posted March 19, 2009 In answer to the other questions, the next phase of the site has gone live so you may now begin adding products and services you buy/sell in preparation for the launch of the matching system.  Once we have enough data to being matching businesses with each other to create potential sales we will launch the matching system. This is expected to happen in the next few weeks.  Trade Sheffield will be completely free to begin with. Our client is considering sponsorship as a revenue model, advertising MAY be avaible to business in the future but for the forseable future businesses may use this service completely free. espadrille   10 #29 Posted March 19, 2009 I am really confused. What do I have to do to do business with the council?
 Share this content via...
indizine   10 #30 Posted March 19, 2009 I'm really confused why someone who is linked to a professional Sheffield web directory which has been endorsed by such as Creative Sheffield etc has a link to a porn site in their signature. OM@More   10 #31 Posted March 19, 2009 I've not had any further emails since the 'add your products and services' one.  I've added what we sell and buy. The process could have been more intuitive, seem to remember it dropped half the details you'd added if you added something it didn't like. But hey it's new so I'll give them the chance to de-bug.  I get a poker site, not porn??
 Share this content via...
ImpInaBox   10 #32 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) Oh goody goody - another trade directory!  Ever the optimist I've registered but kept my fingers crossed while I was typing!  And where's this porn site? Am I missing out here???? Edited March 19, 2009 by ImpInaBox Couldn't find the porn!
 Share this content via...
indizine   10 #33 Posted March 20, 2009 There was a gambling site and a porn site in their sig link. I clicked through to see if it was for sure, and sure it was! I mean, i'm all for promoting keywords in your sig link, but one draws a line as to what you make public and where!  Yeah i'm afraid you missed that one Imp! sharpend   11 #34 Posted March 22, 2009 Anyone else been getting emails from "the walnut club" ? Found out on Friday that the owner of trade sheffield also owns the walnut club.  Need to check the t's & c's but *I think* this is a breach of the Data Protection Act, namely private details are collected in respect of Business A but then used to pitch Business B which the customer has not requested. indizine   10 #35 Posted March 22, 2009 There are regulations about sending unsolicited emails and sharing data so anyone getting emails who didn't sign up should query it if they feel their email data is getting passed around.  Sharpy, that is very true, however loads of companies and non-commercial organisations do this. It would have to be on some grand scale for the DP people to look into it.
 Share this content via...
