A little off topic but still about Cornwall. I'm reminded of a holiday we spent at a Holiday Camp in Cornwall back in 1957. It was at Perranport: Perran Sands. Decide to google it and to my surprise found out it's still operating. Anyone been there recently or like me, way back in the 50s? Bit of a shoestring operation bk then.

took the kids every year while they were young, it was lovely till the last few years when the place was full of slot machines and burger bars, but still a lovely holiday and perranpoorth beach is lovely,

By the way, did you know there is a village in Cornwall called Sheffield, I came across it by accident once and took a photo of the kids standing beside the sign.

Sheffield in Cornwall is west of the county - towards Penzance.

As Gladys Clark says Cornwall very much reminds me of Yorkshire. When we came to view our now house 35 years ago - the view across the valley from the front window was so similar to our view across the valley in Penistone minus the railway. Of course, the sea from the back was so different making it our little bit of paradise.

Like you Cornishmaid we moved here 35 years ago and love it. We are on the coast at a little place called Gorran Haven - I am married to a United Supporter but my Yorkshire family support Wednesday. You can imagine the problems with that!!!
