I wonder why sometimes the YouTube link inserts as an embedded video, and sometimes as just a link.

Oh yes she does have a lovely voice.

She didn't win the best actress award she was nominated for, but having now read the reviews and seen the trailer I think I would enjoy the film-Wild Rose.

I’ve just watched the trailer and I also think it could be a good film.

Hi Janie

Hi Cressida.

Ode to Billie Joe is a good song. Haven't heard it for ages, so that's another one to add to my playlist.

You can sing along to it now - no excuse

Ode to Billie Joe
It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day
I was out choppin' cotton, and my brother was balin' hay
And at dinner time we stopped and walked back to the house to eat
And mama hollered out the back door, y'all, remember to wipe your feet
And then she said, I got some news this mornin' from Choctaw Ridge
Today, Billy Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge
And papa said to mama, as he passed around the blackeyed peas
Well, Billy Joe never had a lick of sense; pass the biscuits, please
There's five more acres in the lower forty I've got to plow
And mama said it was shame about Billy Joe, anyhow
Seems like nothin' ever comes to no good up on Choctaw Ridge
And now Billy Joe MacAllister's jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge
And…

My two favourite guitar players - Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton-Sultans of Swing.

Yes I also thought it was very moving.  She has a lovely voice.

I tried to post her singing it at the Bafta awards when I previously posted her singing the song, because that's where I first heard it, but it wasn't  on YouTube at that time.

It is now though, and I think she sounds even better on that appearence.

Thank you Jane, I’ve only got an iPad but it does sound better than when she sang it on TV.

I’m off out now,  but I will listen to it again after tea time.
