MR BENN   10 #37 Posted January 4, 2009 Im not amazed in the slightest, however i will be amazed if you single handedly stop people from riding in this park. Or even if one of the people who get caught face £5000 fine/ and or 6 months in prison.  im not saying i will ,i can only supply the police with the onfo on these people. i agree none of them will get the maximum penaly as its not enforced, which it should be every time. what i do know is that directly due to my info ,bikes have been siezed so my efforts are being rewarded. MR BENN   10 #38 Posted January 4, 2009 I drove along Greaves Lane, this pm. There were 2 vans parked near the entrance to Westwood- I don't know for certain why they were there, but I can guess. Also just as I drove past an off road bike with no rear numberplate, 2-up, drove up and turned off the road towards the entrance. So, still some way to go, Mr Benn.  it will take time but as ive said in previous post ,the police are acting on info recieved and bikes are being siezed. all i can do is keep giving info to the police. chem1st   10 #40 Posted January 4, 2009 if the maximum penalty was enforced maybe they would think about doing it again .  Do you seriously think riding a motorbike is a crime worthy of a £5k fine and 6 months in prison?  For example some recent cases of assault (a crime with a victim), all offenders received £100 fines, as reported in the star. MR BENN   10 #41 Posted January 4, 2009 Care to expand on this?  How do you illegally follow someone? And get your 'O' key fixed.  the 4x4 was escorting the quad on a public road ,so the quad could get into westwood woods.
 Share this content via...
MR BENN   10 #42 Posted January 4, 2009 Do you seriously think riding a motorbike is a crime worthy of a £5k fine and 6 months in prison? For example some recent cases of assault (a crime with a victim), all offenders received £100 fines, as reported in the star.  thats the maximum penalty set out by the government for this crime. maybe if it was enforced this problem would improve . Cyclone   10 #43 Posted January 5, 2009 the 4x4 was escorting the quad on a public road ,so the quad could get into westwood woods.  What crime would the driver (of the 4x4) be charged with?
 Share this content via...
MR BENN Â Â 10 #44 Posted January 5, 2009 What crime would the driver (of the 4x4) be charged with? Â he was obviously with the quad rider who was riding illegally on a public road ,so at the very least he was aiding the rider to break the law
 Share this content via...
sierraman   11 #45 Posted January 5, 2009 i certainly wouldnt recomend this type of behaviour unless you are 6foot 6 and built like a brick bog house! have you ever wondered what would happen if one of the bikers turned on you? I ride off road on legal lanes and land. we once had a run in with a notorious farmer in derbyshire. That turned rather nasty and ended a slight scuffle, the farmer was the aggressor by the way. I know many bikers who ride in illegal places and wouldnt think twice about pushing the camera in a certain orafice. This quote just shows the sort of people you are dealing with Mr Benn! Cyclone   10 #46 Posted January 5, 2009 he was obviously with the quad rider who was riding illegally on a public road ,so at the very least he was aiding the rider to break the law  Hmmm... I think you might be grasping a little bit there. The quad rider was definitely breaking the law, both by riding on the road (if it wasn't a road legal quad) and then by riding in the park. Someone following him though... I'm not sure that there's any offence for following someone who's breaking the law, even if you're actually with them.  For example, it's not a crime to accept a ride from a driver with no insurance.
