It was ealy 80s , the people who bought the peacock also took over the old bank and extended the restaurant and turned it into The Coach House , iit was deffinately before 1984 , if I remember rightly the people who opened it also owned the Venus Steak place on the moor

I had my 21st birthday party at the Old Coach House back in 1981.

I had to book it several months in advance because it was so popular.

A lovely meal and then dancing upstairs.

I still have the photos of that night somewhere............

Had my wedding breakfast there on 30 Mar 1984. Only seven of us. My husband and I always ordered Mixed Grills - the best!

Also, often went there for office dos.

The Peacock was the first Chinese Restaurant I ever ate in.

Yes the Peacock was one of the first Chinese restaurants in Sheffield, the first was the Rickshaw (Devonshire Street) followed by Zing Vaa (the Moor), then one at Hillsborough corner and another at Highfields (London Road), last two names I forget.
