Cutting it short, if anyone finds a dog, let the dog warden know, they will send you a pack out to fill in, return it to them, in 28 days the dog could be yours :)

BUT to protect owners of lost dogs from people who decide they like the dog they find and decide to keep it they ARE breaking the law and commiting theft by finding . They can keep the dog but must do so lawfully , A lot of dogs are kept whilst owners are going frantic to find them .

thanks for that K9 - another law that doesn't have its ends tied up - and creates a huge jar of worms

I know that some people are reluctant for dogs to go to the POUND as they think that they may be PTS and sadly some are

But in some cases that's because the system is failing!

anybody who followed Classic Rock's story knows of how much effort she put in to find Jack, but the dog pound failed to marry up both the lost and found reports in a timely fashion, the chip company failed to phone her, and the scanning vet (her own vet btw) failed to get in touch either!

Frankly the whole system is JOKE cos some areas its still the police who take in dogs

but is that because they're designated as the wardens in that area? as they still have suitable kennels on site

We have plenty of stories like that on our site , dogs picked up in one area and being moved up North from our area down South , how do you find your dog if its not chipped and even the the RSPCA have failed to scan dogs and rehomed them !!!
