Burst water mains

Recommended Posts

At the entrance to Concord Park at the junction of Sycamore Road there is a very large sheet of ice, this is due to a burst water main, this leak has been in excistance for at least two years. Why has nothing been done? Please can something be done to alleviate this problem?

TWO YEARS????? Have you tried reporting to Yorkshire water? may have better luck:)

Or does someone have to kill themselves before anythings done? Where are the gritters!

Doing something sensible, instead of pouring out grit onto a spot where it will be washed away almost before it's had time to land.

Ahhh, I see, like playing card's in the canteen until they get the go ahead to grit...with just the right conditions?:hihi:

I'm sure with Street Force making so many off the recky department do mundane job's like sweep street's there's not enough manpower to cordon this area off as dangerous?

Yes the grit will probably wash away, but a few cones won't...as we know there's pleanty to go around, they have a breeding program for cones on the M1, so I'm told:hihi:

Come on... there must be something that can be done to prevent death...after two years, is'nt this a joke???

And you're arguing that they should have sent a gritter out to place cones? :loopy:

No...not at all, but on the other hand a gritting lorry is just a normal lorry with a computer and cage/spreader attached. The same lorry would be used in normal routine job's for the rest of the year as a highway repair lorry, without the gritting equipment.

How's about a normal, flat back truck to go out and put cones out?? Can't see the problem really.
