Cos we say thee and tha and it sounds like dee and dar !

Eg:

What's up we thee and what's tha just said ?

I always say the Barnsley dialect is ....Haaaa Moooooch !!! :D

As Michael W said it's because they think thee and thar sound like dee and darr.

 

I thought us Sheffelders refer to people from Barnsley Boyits and coyts, because when they say boots and coats it sounds like boy'its and coy'its?

My o/h worked in Barnsley and coming over here from Malaysia she loves learing the local dilect, both yorkshire and Barsnly.

 

Tin tin tin = It isn't in the tin. I didn't get it at first but think about it and you work it out.
