Acer laptop rapid beeping on start up

acer travelmate 2000 laptop rapid beeping on start up??

beeps very loud for about 30 seconds then get a white task bar starts going up

once it gets to end of task bar it starts as normal?

fresh install etc fully updated graphics card driver etc:confused:

any info will help

maybe a low cmos battery? Don't really know what else the beeping could signify harware wise and the laptop still work

You get through a lot of lappys barts!

lappy runs no probs just the annoying beeping??

The white bar going up is sometimes seen on windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista when its resuming something, such as from stand by, or hibernate etc.

 

the bleeping could be a warning that the battery life is low, or there's a stuck key, or some configuration problem/change since it was last powered on.

when it boots it sounds like a smoke detector going off

when key suck etc it a lot quieter?

running xp pro

low battery is usually a slow beep and not smoke alarm loudness. just tap every key on the board to make sure they're all free etc but I doubt it's that.

tried booting with new memory sticks,battery removed and in,battery lasts 20-3omins,tapping all keys on boot

still same

boot then f8 it loads better and faster

It could be a thermal warning, or fan warning, maybe your fan is gunked up and starts off too slow, and once its been on for a minute it loosens up, try cleaning the fans etc if you can..

turns out to be faulty keyboard ,never had one this loud lol

now after a keyboard for acer travelmate 2000/2005
