speeder   10 #25 Posted September 8, 2003 the road between Lower and Upper Bradfield is steep but I think Hagg Hill is a winner in this category
 Share this content via...
spanerhed7 Â Â 10 #26 Posted September 8, 2003 What about Bishops Court Road in Meersbrook? I used to walk it every morning going to Newfield and it was plenty steep enough...
 Share this content via...
Andy   10 #27 Posted September 8, 2003 Don't know about roads, but I'm reliably told that Sheffield's Supertram includes the steepest section of railway line in the country.
 Share this content via...
mikey   10 #28 Posted September 9, 2003 I went down Hagg Hill at the weekend, it is nowhere near as steep as some others mentioned.  Bishops Court Rd Kent Rd Myrtle Rd are all steeper  These are all roads around Heeley and Meersbrook  The reason you have to go into 1st on Hagg Hill is because of the bend half way up and you loose your speed.  Maybe we could form a society and do Steep Hill walks and then pop for a pint afterwards.  What's the simplest device for measure steepness? My friend's dad used to have one in his car back in the 60s (he was a bit odd, he also had an altimeter and barometer in the car). Plain Talker   11 #33 Posted February 10, 2004 My money's on Blake St, too....  The thing about sheffield is that, no matter where you go in Sheffield, even when it's downhill, you've got to go uphill!!!!  Gotta love those seven hills!  Plain Talker
 Share this content via...
mojoworking   10 #34 Posted February 10, 2004 Scarsdale Road in Woodseats is a strong contender. In fact there are a few roads along Chesterfield Road in Woodseats that are implausibly steep
 Share this content via...
jackthedog   10 #35 Posted February 10, 2004 There is loads of stupidly steep hills in Sheff. I'd say the very bottom of Langsett Avenue at Middlewood is the steepest section of road in the city, it's ridiculous. It's only like that for about 100 yeards though, so it doesnt really count does it.
 Share this content via...
