Ross And Brand - How Far Is Too Far?

Recommended Posts

Yes, it would have made a difference.

She takes her clothes off for a living, poses in sexually provocative positions and then complains and feels 'distressed' when a famous 'risque' comedian jokes about having sex with her. What does she expect from her work - a Nobel Peace Prize?

What someone does for a living, or as a hobby, does not give someone else the right to ring up their Grandad and make crass remarks about shagging her.

You may not realise this but women who model or who are part of burlesque troops are not necessarily whores. They have the same rights to privacy as everyone else and they should also have a right to a certain amount of respect from people who've slept with them.

This woman's only crime was to go to bed with a lowlife creep who thinks its witty and clever to brag about who he's "had" and who thinks it's funny to ring up the girl's Grandad to brag about it. Class

Just been on the news that Ross Brand has quit his job at BBC

When the show aired, OFCOM received 2 complaints. It was not until a week later when it was seized and sensationalised by the press that the BBC and OFCOM received over 10,000 complaints, most of them by people who did not even hear the broadcast in the first place.

But that could be because very few people were listening to the late night radio broadcast in the first place, and those that were probably only had it on as background, and the demographic that would listen to this type of radio show would probably be less inclined to be the complaining type.

Like I said before, If Jonathon Ross performed the same prank with Brand on his Friday night TV show you could bet your bottom dollar that they get a darn sight more than 2 complaints.

So really the differential in terms of complaints is really a non issue.

The more people that have become aware of this prank, the more people have been angered, and that's to be expected.

The concensus on most forums and news sites is condemning the pairs actions, but remember that the majority here and on other forums probably haven't gone as far as complaining to the BBC, so the actual number that think Ross and Brand were out of order is probably much bigger than the 28,000 that the BBC have received in complaints.

If this saga continues to grow at its current rate then expect a massive nuclear exchange between Nato and Soviet forces by the middle of next week

Seems like it is just Brand at the moment.

Ross has more to lose so I doubt he would quit. Plus his layers will be forcing the issue that the producers of the show should take the rap for it all.

Expect to see it in the tabloids sometime soon " Russel Brand downloaded sicko kiddie porn".

This case smacks so much of a witch hunt.

I truly believe we are heading back into the 1950's.

I can't get my breath! How can they justify paying that obscene amount to a pratt?

Oh stop being so dramatic!

The only reason why there appears to be a witch hunt, is because the BBC bosses were slow to react, and do the right thing in the first place, the moment the broadcast was recorded.

Anyone who works 9-5 in any office, that was caught making a prank call using office equipment on company time, that upset the recipient with crude comments regarding their family members would likely face dismissal.

Why should Brand or Ross be treated any differently, merely because they are tv celebrities, and highly paid ones at that?

Are you forgetting that everyone that has a TV licence is paying for Ross and Brand?:suspect:

Hmmm how many TV licences make up £6 million? If they sacked him they could reduce our TV licences!
