H da fella   10 #1 Posted October 17, 2008 The powers that be have realised that we the public are getting ripped of by organisations utilising an 0844 0845 0870 prefix to contact them.. These numbers are commonly used by such organisations as the csa police vosa etc etc.. problem is that these numbers cost 40p per minute from a mobile and 5p from a landline part of which is passed on to the organisation that is using these prefixes.. ie licence to print money.. there is a new number coming into play that will be 030 which will be cheaper to call and will not make any revenue for the user of the number but just how many of these organisations are gonna give up on the 08 numbers when they are getting money for nothing ??? over to you peeps and pedants :hihi:
 Share this content via...

big_g   10 #5 Posted October 17, 2008 Have a look at this company that supplies these 03 numbers as well as many more.  http://www.ttnc.co.uk/numbers/03-numbers.do  The layout of the information is terrible but it states that people ringing 03 numbers will get charged the same as a normal landline number - so if you get free phone calls then these will be free too.  G
 Share this content via...

But then I never call such numbers from a mobile anyway (I'm that tight)
 Share this content via...
MrNM Â Â 10 #7 Posted October 17, 2008 Nice link jason... cheers.. Â I've managed to use that link for everything except the doctors. Even the 0845 numbers are extortionate on mobiles. 0845's would not be so bad if included in mobile minutes or charged less by moble networks so who's to blame there? Love the 03 thing though. For me a big selling point for any business who will be prepared to take a hit and use these...
 Share this content via...
